Well it’s no news at this point. But for the English speaking people I rather explain a few facts.
Together with one of our national Musical stars, Ben Cramer, and with one of our best singing ladies in the country, Maggie MacNeal, BBSO created a unique theater show. Starting on December 14 2011 in Den Bosch and ending on April 28 2012 in Veldhoven.
This will be a journey through the music which was very famous in the ’50 until the’80. Apart from the standard show the audience will be able to vote on the music they would like to hear in a specific theater. They can pick out 10 numbers from a list of 100 numbers. That means that even we don’t know what we will be playing that specific show. How unique is this?
For us, as musicians it means that apart from the standard program we have to get over 150 numbers in our fingers. Believe me, that’s a lot of work to prepare.
Well, nobody have to feel sorry for us. The fact is that we love to make a show like this by the fact that none of us is a professional musician and that we have the opportunity to create something like this together with two of our National VIP’s. In the history of our Dutch theaters no one ever had guts to pull something like this off. And that makes it rather unique.
In the meanwhile we are working our buts off to get the job done, so no one will notice that this show is performed by amateur musicians. The expectations are high and within our group the nerves are beginning to get to a certain level that would take out the biggest performing artist, under normal conditions. The believe and the growing will to make this a success, is in this stage of the preparation enough to make it work.
Apart off the audience who will enjoy a brilliant show, the Dutch Theater business is watching us. So what? Let them and they will be very surprised. Jukebox on tour will be a great success. Because we believe in it. Next year in the UK, Germany, Belgium or even the US?? Just give us a call and we will be there.
